The Beef Cattle Institute (BCI) Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) app is a tool designed to assist veterinarians issuing VFDs for their clients to calculate the appropriate drug concentration in feed in order to issue VFDs that conform to label directions.

DISCLAIMER: A VFD can only be issued by a veterinarian to a client within the context of a valid veterinarian-client-patient-relationship (VCPR) as defined by the state where the feed containing the VFD drug will be fed (in states where the FDA determines that no applicable or appropriate state VCPR exists, veterinarians will need to issue VFDs in compliance with federally defined VCPR requirements).
The App is intended as a support tool for veterinarians and is provided for reference only. It should therefore not be used as the sole basis for issuing a VFD. Updates of this App may be released periodically and it is up to the user to ensure that the most up-to-date version available is used. The final responsibility for the accuracy of the VFD falls on the issuing veterinarian.
